Thanksgiving Holiday Photos

All three dogs (Sancho, Frankie, and Maggie) swarmed my brother-in-law Mike as he cut up the leftover turkey and ham, hoping something would drop.

Tying me up in knots....

Cross posted in my Another Think Coming blog:
I'm practicing learning knotwork with instructions by Odd. I love these designs (like this and this), but they're much harder than they look. After much head scratching and several false starts, I finally have one that does what I think it should. Here's my second (nearly complete) attempt.

Of course, now that I've scanned it in, I've realized that I have two big loops that aren't connected to the rest of the design. This should be one continuous line, but now I see that it isn't. Back to the drawing board! :) Thanks, Odd! You were right. These are really fun to do.

The slope down to the lake.

Railroad ties, ready to be used for terracing the garden next year.

And this, once we went back indoors.

We finally settled on this.

Mom trying to trick Maggie into coming over and posing.

Begging Maggie to come have her picture taken.

Mom on the deck this morning.

The lake in fall.

Oak leaves and acorns.

The camp with fallen leaves on the lake.

A few days later, it's orange.
