Snow Day Photos!

The snow began falling yesterday during the late afternoon--a snow so dry that you could see the individual flakes piled on top of one another, clearly defined and crisp, glittering in the light from the streetlights.

On my street this morning, the snow was 3 inches deep and continuing to fall, still powdery and light but accumulating rapidly.

=) I love it, I like the way it sounds and feels crunching under your feet.
It makes a sound like frrrurrrrp!
Here we get wet sticky snow, the air is always humid, so never get dry snow, I bet you guys get the latter type dry and flakey.

Another thing I love, is when I lay in bed, first thing in the mourning, and you can hear and feel it has snowed.
The air has a "feel" to it ( Hard to explain), and the sound of the cars stop. ( England truly grinds to a hult when we get any thing more than 6 inches.)
Then you whip back the curtains and the white pureness hits you, coating the world with virgin whitness and change.

I love it.
Also we are lucky, it never hangs around for long, so it is a nice change.

We get all kinds. The weather here is always a surprise.

I know what you mean about waking up on a snowday. It's like a quiet blanket fell on everything, and all the sounds are muffled. I love that so much.

Tomorrow, I have to go back to work, but today was a treat.
