Spooky!

On the homefront, more work had to be done to my lovely house. Prep yourself for Halloween and take a peek at my terror. :)

Scottish Cattle

Mom and I passed this man while we were climbing up and down hill along Hadrian's Wall.

Jarndyce Bookseller's in Bloomsbury sent me a catalogue!!!

My thank you note to Jarndyce Bookseller's. I finally got around to writing this note today, but I am no less thankful today than I was last week when it first arrived. I've now had time to read through parts of the publication, and it's fantastic!

Jarndyce Booksellers in Bloomsbury which sent me air mail that arrived today!

Fall is here at last

Dogwood shadows on the sidewalk.

The house where I'm currently living.

Above a women's exercise club, echoes of the bank that was once housed inside.

Two more signs on the Home Theatre Video Rental Store.

Two more painted billboards on the side of the Shryack Givens Grocery Company Building.

Bikes against the mural downtown.

Light playing on the water below looks like a new galaxy being born.

Railing shadows on the Missouri River Bridge.

The Katy Bridge which the city preservationists want to save and which the railroad company wants to sell.

This is the front porch of one of the houses that caught fire last week in the gas explosions throughout town.

A tinge of fall.

The town is full of red maple trees, and they're just coming into their full flush of fall color.

Fall leaves are gorgeous here in Punytown.

Small Town Life

This Dr. Pepper painted billboard has not been restored. It dates back to the 1920s.

It was evening, and the clouds looked like something from a Monet painting.

Closeup of the Bull Durham billboard.

There are several painted billboards around town which date back to the early 1900s. This one has been restored.

Some lovely purple flowers I saw during my evening walk around town with Mom.

Fire! Fire! Fire!

Freya snoozing on the back porch yesterday morning, not long before the sirens began going off downtown because of this and this and this and this.

Architectural Salvage

I want to buy the eagle topped lamp in this photo for my front porch, since the bed and breakfast will be called "Eagle Heights" and the school's mascot is the eagle. This would also match the door knocker of the house.

A hall mirror with sconce lighting at the Architectural Salvage store.

I want this for my bed and breakfast.

A fireplace mantle I loved.

A china cabinet (very similar to the one I own) in the Architectural Salvage Store in downtown Kansas City.
